How we make money
Last updated October 2026
Short version: Candid Timeshare works with Vacation Ownership Consultants, a timeshare exit firm, and may be paid when readers hire it. Reading the site is free. We are not paid by any timeshare developer or resort.
Who pays us
Candid Timeshare works with Vacation Ownership Consultants, a timeshare exit firm in Scottsdale, Arizona. When a reader clicks a button such as "Get a free exit review" on one of our guides, they go to that firm's consultation page. If the reader later hires the firm, we may be paid. Links to the firm carry a rel="sponsored" tag so search engines know they are paid links.
What the money does not change
- Every guide puts the free routes first: cancelling inside the rescission period, asking the developer in writing, checking the resale market, and disclaiming an inheritance. The FTC tells owners to start by contacting their timeshare company, and we say the same.
- We never tell readers to stop paying, never promise an outcome, and never call any firm the only or fastest way out.
- Our checklist for judging an exit firm applies to every firm, including the one we work with.
- Where a page cites the firm's own case examples or data, it says so, and treats them as the claims of an interested party.
Where you will see the disclosure
Every guide carries a disclosure line before it first names the firm, and again at the foot of the page. The site footer repeats it on every page.
