About Candid Timeshare

Last updated October 2026

Candid Timeshare is a website about one thing: getting out of a timeshare. It explains every route an owner has, from cancelling inside the rescission window to asking the developer for a deed-back, and what to do when the resort says no. Every page lists the sources behind its facts and the month it was last checked.

Who runs the site

Candid Timeshare is published by Candid Timeshare LLC. It is not a law firm, a timeshare developer, a resale broker or an exit company, and it is not affiliated with any resort or developer named on the site.

Who we work with

Candid Timeshare works with Vacation Ownership Consultants, a timeshare exit firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and may be paid when readers hire it. The buttons on our guides that offer a free exit review lead to its consultation page. That relationship is the reason we publish a checklist for judging any exit firm, including the one we work with, and the reason every guide puts the free routes first. How we make money explains the arrangement in full.

What we believe

  • Owners should try the free routes first: rescission if they just signed, a written request to the developer, and an honest look at the resale market.
  • Nobody can promise an exit. Anyone who guarantees one, or tells you to stop paying your bills, is someone to walk away from.
  • A fact without a source does not belong on the page.

Who writes the guides

Guides are written by Kira Fairbank, a manager at Vacation Ownership Consultants, and checked against primary sources before they go live. Because she works for the firm we partner with, every guide says so. An attorney reviewer will be added as one joins. Read our editorial policy for how pages are researched, checked and corrected.
